Explore archeological excavations of the ruin of Karakorum, the capital of Mongol Empire of the 13th Century, visiting Monuments of Great Kings followed by brief historical guiding. We shall also visit Erdenezuu Monastery built in 16-19th centuries. Tuvhen Monastery is built by Zanabazar (First Buddhist leader of Mongolia). It’s located on top of mountain surrounded with forest. 8-Lakes is a wonderful place for hiking and horse riding. The forest and the big mountain is reflected down in the water of the lake. Bird watching and fishing.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrives in UB. GMN staff will meet you at the exit of airport customs or train station and transfer to your hotel by GMN vehicle.
Half Day City Tour: 2hr city tour in UB guided by GMN staff. Then attend one of Museums of Natural History Museum, National History Museum or Gandan Monastery.Then you will have mongolian national cousin for lunch (or dinner) together with GMN guide in one of the best restaurants of the city. Other time - free at leisure.
Day 2:
Depart UB early morning on a vehicle and drive to Elsen Tasarhai, the nearest to the city site having the gobi nature. Stay in a tourist camp. Horse riding and hiking around the sand hillock.
Day 3: Elsen Tasarhai Karakorum Town
After breakfast depart from the camp and arrive Horhorin (Karakorum) Town. Whole day we shall stay in this town, exploring archeological excavations of the ruin of Karakorum, the capital of Mongol Empire of the 13th Century, visiting Monuments of Great Kings followed by brief historical guiding. We shall also visit Erdenezuu Monastery built in 16-19th centuries. Overnite at a tourist camp.
Day 4: Karakorum Tovhon Monastery Orhon waterfall
After breakfast depart from the camp and arrive Tovhon monastery. Tuvhen Monastery is built by Zanabazar (First Buddhist leader of Mongolia). It’s located on top of mountain surrounded with forest. Women are not allowed by the custom to get on top of the hill but we could climb up not reaching the top. You will enjoythe beautiful landscape from there. Orhon waterfall: The waterfall was formed by a unique combination of volcano eruptions and earthquakes 20,000 years ago.
Day 5-6: Orhon waterfall Eight Lakes
This is a wonderful place for hiking and horse riding. We will overnite at one of the 8 lakes hidden between mountains. The forest and the big mountain is reflected down in the water of the lake. Bird watching and fishing.
Day 7: Eight Lakes- Hujirt Spa
After breakfast depart from the camp and arrive Hujirt spa, which is good for rheumatism, kidney, heart diseases and various injuries and breakages. Trekking or horse riding to the hot spa and taste it. We could also go to rectangular graves located in the vicinity.
Day 8: Hujirt Hustai National Park
Depart from the Hujirt spa towards UB and stop at Hustai National Park. Stay at a tourist camp. Hustai is a site keeping the natures of the gobi, hangai and the steppe.
Day 9: Hustai
Drive out of Hustai and arrive UB. Check into a hotel.
At 4.30pm, GMN staff will pick you up from hotel and go to see cultural performance. Then have a dinner together with the guide.
Day 10: Departs from UB
