7 days / 6 nights Trip:

Karakorum tour will take you to the historic sites from the Great Mongol Empire (13-15th century AD). You will visit Erdenezuu monastery, the first center of Tibetan Buddhism in Mongolia and the ruins of the capital city from the ancient empire and will also explore the historic monuments from the Turkish period 5-7 Century AD and the history. You will also have opportunity to rest at the lake of Ogii Nuur enjoying the natural beauty and fishing for perch and pikes. On the way back to UB we will stop at beautiful Hustai National Park to see the only true wild horses in the world - the Takhi aka Przewalski horses.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrives in UB
GMN staff will meet you at the exit of airport customs or train station and transfer to your hotel by GMN vehicle. Hotel Half Day City Tour: 2hr city tour in UB guided by GMN staff. Then attend one of Museums of Natural History Museum, National History Museum or Gandan Monastery.Then you will have mongolian national cousin for lunch (or dinner) together with GMN guide in one of the best restaurants of the city. Other time - free at leisure.
Day 2: UB Elsen Tasarhai (Sand Hillock)
Depart UB early morning on a vehicle and drive to Elsen Tasarhai, the nearest to the city site having the gobi nature. Stay in a tourist camp. Horse riding and hiking around the sand hillock.
Day 3: Elsen Tasarhai Karakorum Town <>After breakfast depart from the camp and arrive Horhorin (Karakorum) Town. Whole day we shall stay in this town, exploring archeological excavations of the ruin of Karakorum, the capital of Mongol Empire of the 13th Century, visiting Monuments of Great Kings followed by brief historical guiding. We shall also visit Erdenezuu Monastery built in 16-19th centuries. Overnite at a tourist camp.
Day 4: Karakorum Ogii Lake
Depart from Karakorum to Ogii Lake. On the way we shall stop at historical monuments of Turkish period and explore the words written on the rocks about the history of ancient era of Turkish Kingdom. Then we follow our driving to Ogii lake.Overnight at tourist camp on the beach of the lake.
Day 5: Ogii Lake Hustai National Park
Depart from the lake towards UB and stop at Hustai National Park. Stay at a tourist camp. Hustai is a site keeping the natures of the gobi, hangai and the steppe. Trekking or riding a horse to observe takhi, wild horses breeding in the native land of Mongolia.
Day 5: Hustai UB
Drive out of Hustai and arrive UB. Check into a hotel.At 4.30pm, GMN staff will pick you up from hotel and go to see cultural performance. Then have a dinner together with the guide.
