7 days / 6 nights Trip:
The
tour takes place in Khentii province, the homeland of the 13th
century conqueror Great Genghis Khan. Dozens of sites scattered
across this province are associated with his life. This trip
takes you up to Mt. Khentii at the northeast of the country.
This place is covered in larch, cedar, birch and fir trees.
you will explore ruins of Uglegch Fortress dated to the Qidan
period or to the 13th - a4th centuries and rock carvings here
at Arshaan Had Mountain dated to between the Mesolithic and
the Upper Paleolithic periods. On the way back to Ulaanbaatar
you will also visit Hodoo Aral, where the great chronicle, the
Secret History of the Mongols, was composed. Three Great Khans,
Ogoodei, Munh and Yuson Tomor, were crowned at the Hodoo Aral.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in UB
GMN staff will meet you at the exit of
airport customs or train station and transfer to your hotel
by GMN vehicle. Hotel Half Day City Tour
You will explore the city with GMN guide. Then attend Natural
History Museum. Lunch:Mongolian national cusine in one of the
best restaurants of the city.
Day2: UB Har Zurhnii Huh Nuur Hangal
Lake
Depart UB early morning for Har Zurhnii Nuur Lake (Blue Lake
of Black Heart), beautiful place located at Hentii Mountain.
This is the place where Temujin spent his childhood, and became
the king (Genghis Khan ) in 1189. Horse riding like Temujin
and hiking around. Then drive to Hangal Lake and overnight at
a tourist camp.
Day 3: Hangal Lake Baldan Bereeven Monastery Deer Stone at Jargalant
River RashaanHad Oglogchiin HeremDrive out towards Baldan Bereeven
monastery and explore a bit the history. This monastery was
called Utai Gumben of North Mongolia. It was famous by the location
, which gives lots of energy to people. This is also a beautiful
place with pine and cedar forests. Then we shall drive towards
Binderiin Ovoo hill. On the way we shall stop in the valley
of Jargalant, to explore deer stones remained from our para
parents who lived 2000 years BC on the land.Our tour shall go
to the hill of Binder(Binderiin Ovoo). There is a site named
Rashaan Had. Rocks of this hill site has drawings and ancient
graves dated back to 20,000 years BC. As well as there is another
site named Oglogchiin Herem dated back to 13th century. This
is a granite fortress, similar
to Great White Wall. Overnite at tour camp nearby.
Day 4: Oglogchiin Herem Hodoo Aral
Drive back from this Hentii Mountain towards Hodoo Aral, a site
located at the elbow of Herlen River. On the way visit to a
nomadic family and explore the customs, culture and lifestyle
of Mongols. Overnite at a tour camp at Hodoo Aral.
Day 5: Whole Day at Hodoo Aral
Great Palace of Mongols (Ih Aurug Ord) was there 800 years ago.
This is also a place where the most important historical chronicle,
Secret History of the Mongols, was written. This was a safe
place where the families of Genghis Khan and his brothers lived
while they went for fighting and hunting.
Day 6: Hodoo Aral UB
Drive back to UB from Hodoo Aral and transfer to the hotel.
Hotel Cultural Performance 5PM, GMN staff will pick you up from
your hotel and attend folk art performance in the center of
the city.
Dinner after the performance.
Day 7: Depart from UB
